Tufts University is a bad name... makes me think of a tuft of hair?

"worst has gotta be Salve Regina- sounds like a particular female body part to me"

What body part? Saliva?

Don't know if it's been mentioned: Austin Paey (State) University, in Tennessee, is pretty bad.

hahaTG

I think swathmore sounds really preppyhaha..
I really love colgate as a college, but not the name..stupid toothpaste :(
I LOVE the name william and mary..those are my favorite (king/queen) of england (yeah I know they were the only pair, but when I went to england, it was cool
Dartmouth sounds cool, along with Duke, Vassar, Yale, Oberlin
I don't like hofstra, carnegie mellon (reminds me of cantaloupe, but i do love the college as well) standford (how boring) Babson, and hofstra oh and rollins haha

Austin Peay State University - yep...... can tell you've been watching a little basketball!

we got curious about where it was and I looked it up on wikipedia - the original name - back in 1927 was "Austin Peay State Normal School for Rural White Teachers".

I don't like William & Mary because we are, after all, the United State of America and we did win the war. But Jefferson went there so........

Lol, definitely not. Say Salve Regina quickly and you should hear it. Besides saliva's not a body part

pitzer...i don't know what the school is like, but if it sucks, it should have the nickname $hitzer.

Best: Amherst (from the town, but I still like it.)

Worst: Swarthmore (it reminds me of "swamp" for some reason.)

virginia polytechnic istitute and state university (virginia tech)....wow thats unnecessary

Ohio State. ewww

I like Tufts. It makes me think of bunnies. Aside from Tufts, I like Oberlin (it sounds fun) and Brown (simplicity, etc.). And Duke, even though as a Northerner I'm disallowed form liking the school itself.

I don't like the name Colby. Everyone and their mother has a dog named Colby. It'd be like going to Fido College. I find "Smith College" to be pretty amusing, too. Smith is a pretty masculine name for a girls' school.

^^ Huh? Duke is crawling with Northerners

Tufts sounds like a circus troupe to me :D
But I love the school.

The University of Colorado at Boulder features the Alferd Packer Grill "named after Colorado's most famous cannibal."

justamom4, yes that's where I ran into Austin Paey...their basketball team. Also in sports this week, D3 wrestling school called -->Wartburg College. which is somewhere in this thread. That gets my vote for THE worst name of all time, no disrespect to anyone who goes there. How do you not laugh when you hear that name?

Yeah, that sounds awful. I had to look it up just to see it myself. Upon further investigation, it actually seems like a decent school with a commitment to social work and service.

Lol, definitely not. Say Salve Regina quickly and you should hear it. Besides saliva's not a body part.

Yeah, I was just kidding. I lived in Newport for a while, and the college's name was a constant source of bad jokes...and none of them had to do with the "Salve" part.

This is soooo funny! Could someone make a condensed version of this and start a email joke. I am laughing so hard, that I'm practically crying. Maybe some of the wurst :) offenders will take note! (Skidmore, Harvey, Bob, Case, Ball, Longwood, Morehead, Slippery, Urinus, etc!!!)

I bet their admission rates would go way up!

Morehead State ... Let's not even go there.

Funny. I remember thinking the same thing.

Oh, please, no. Mass-forwarded e-mails are obnoxious.
