Hoping to get invited to apply for the Harvey or some other form of merit aid. Engineering physics for major choice.

@salsmom - My son received his OOS merit notification in the mail yesterday. Looks like it went out 12/22 (we are in Texas). He has very similar stats to your daughter - SAT - 2190, 4.0 UW, 3/480 (same rank, haha). Main ECs are music - marching band, drumline captain, plays with church youth band. They gave him 14K per year - I am guessing this is max - I saw where it used to be 12K for out of state. I was wondering if he might have a shot at Harvey scholar. He hasn’t been invited to apply - I think those notifications must come out soon, in years past it seems like people knew by the first of January. GPA requirement for the merit is 2.5 - which is reasonable. I think. We are happy with the scholarship - he hasn’t visited yet, and it may not be his top choice, but it is a very nice option to have, and the cost is where we would want it to be with this scholarship.

Yes! Daughter just opened her letter and was also awarded $14,000 K per year. No word about Harvey Scholars either but we will see about a visit as things firm up with other schools. Funny how many people don’t know about Mines yet when you talk to scientists in the field, they speak very highly of Mines!
