***Columbia 2022 RD Applicants Discussion***

I had my interview couple of weeks ago. Very casual yet interesting and deep conversation. I loved it

I had my interview yesterday. Very different than the other two I had. Only half an hour long, very straightforward, not much discussion in between. He just asked me 12 questions, some of which I didn’t expect, and then had me ask him some questions of my own. I don’t know if it was good or bad.

Just had my Skype interview a few hours ago! Mine was also only 30 mins. I think it went well but would’ve liked more opportunities to expand. I would give my response and immediately be asked another question so not much back and forth or ability to really go in depth (not saying this is necessarily a bad thing though, I still think it was a successful interview). Interviewee was very nice and generally seemed interested in what I had to say, so for anyone else preparing, don’t be nervous!

Does anyone know if likelies are coming in waves? I don’t expect one, even if I am admitted, but I was wondering since it seems rather scattered so far.

yes waves

when is the RD date?

March 28th

@nuvemseis i read april 1 somewhere

Hoping March 28!!!

@Volunteerism a friend of mine got his likely letter last year from Columbia around mid-March. They should continue coming…

If you got a likely letter, you are in.

@nuvemseis Yes, your son is in for sure. Congratulations! Same thing happened to my daughter last year. She did not go to Columbia, but all I can tell you is that they really really want him.

Hi Guys! I’m a new poster, but I’m so excited to be on this journey with you all! I just had my interview yesterday and it went so well! I was quite surprised myself because I was actually sick, but for some reason, 15 minutes before my interviewer came, my nose unclogged and I could actually speak without sounding nasally. It was like the clouds had opened up and the sun came out!
The interview was at starbucks, and as I was talking, a customer turned to my interviewer’s seat and said “I would hire her” and the interview laughed and nodded! I was blown away!!!

@cvette99 Thank you so much… and only for curiosity, where did your daughter decide to attend?

@ToIvyornottoivy Glad the interview went great for you! What exactly were you blown away by though? :stuck_out_tongue:

Firstly, the interviewer and I mixed well. It felt like he genuinely was interested in what I was saying, and he even said that he would give me a chance to "speak out to the admission officer themselves " in one sentence that he’d include his report. He told me "what is ONE thing you’d like to say to the AOs. I was shocked he was giving me this opportunity and thought carefully. It took me a full minute to come up with my response, but when I did, it came from my heart. I said “The world will know my name, you will one day see my legacy, and I will make a difference.” He said that he felt so moved by my words !!!
And then after the interview HE actually reached out to me first and emailed me saying:

(My name),
It was fantastic meeting you. I am so proud of you. You have done very well. Continue to do your best in everything you do. Your attitude, energy, and leadership attributes will continue to put you in a class of your own.

It was great meeting you and I look forward to seeing how you transform the world, because you will.

Best of luck to you.
