^Hahah same, pathetic. I wasn’t even excited when I got a Berkeley email or NYU email…honestly I haven’t been excited to hear back from any of my colleges since University of Chicago. And now I get this Columbia email and my stomach is in knots. God. And I logged onto the decision website to make sure I remembered my password (I applied ED and was deferred) and they have this countdown thing. Like really, Columbia?! It’s all…

Your Decision can be viewed in:
4 days, 16 hours, 2 minutes, 2 Seconds

-_____- I wouldn’t care if Chicago hadn’t offered me a not great financial aid package. Like it’s good in comparison to all my other schools, but I’m sure Columbia would do a little better and I really don’t want to have to take out that much loans…Plus Columbia was my first choice.

as previously stated, it has arrived!

I’m kinda more anxious now, considering our admissions decision is sitting on this website that’s blocked until wednesday. Just in case there happens to be a glitch and people are indeed able to check BEFORE wednesday, please post here!

Haha, when you log in, it’s got a countdown. Pretty sure there won’t be a technical glitch.

There is definitely at least a slim chance of a glitch, for example I’m pretty sure a few people got their MIT decisions early a couple years ago

I was deferred ED, and I can’t believe the day is almost near. It’s gonna be pretty emotional when I hit the “View Decision” button

what are your sat reasoning or act scores like ?

I was deferred too, and I remember thinking that I would have just preferred a rejection. Now, I’m glad to have another shot. ^ I had a 34 but a particularly weak science section (30) that may have hurt me as I’m applying SEAS.

did anyone else find columbia’s msg a bit discouraging? It reminded me of the Duke one, it’s like they are setting you up for the rejection… sigh
“Thank you for your application to Columbia University. We are nearing the end of our application review and will soon notify first-year candidates of our decisions.
The Columbia community is committed to environmental responsibility; in keeping with this commitment, we will provide some admissions decisions only online, not via regular mail. You may request that a copy of your decision letter be mailed to you after you receive it online; further instructions will be available when you check your decision. We plan to post all decisions here on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, after 5:00pm (Eastern Time).”

when i first read it yes it did feel like a rejection even though it was an informative email lol

The email says the decisions don’t come out until after 5:00 pm Eastern time just so you know. Freakingggggggg out waiting to find outt! does no likely letter mean u aren’t getting in? ;_;

^No. Likely letters are sent to a very select (small) group from the admitted students.

So we have to wait to get the password until decision time, is that right? I mean we can’t enter the pin, get the password now? So at 5:00 pm Wednesday we have to wait to get the email with the password to enter to the decision site?

you can get the password now. just click on the link in the e-mail and the directions are on the main page! :)

Thanks princess! The whole enter-you forgot-your password thing through me off!

ya and youre better off getting it now because when its decision time the site will be loaded

sorry, but what is the site again? i accidentally deleted the email!!!

^thank you! and good luck to everybody!(:

A friend of mine logged into the portal an hour ago and was accepted! Has anyone else heard definitive news???

@leoborn how ??? i still have a countdown on my page -_-
