i just logged on earlier and got a countdown…

there’s a countdown on the page? O___o whoa

I’m waiting too. Sadly, I’m expecting a cruel rejection
PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG, COLUMBIA. PLEASE DO.

^^^^^^ its so much more emotional for a deferred applicant :o

What are likely letters? Is this just for ed applicants?

There IS no decision available now, the decision page only shows a countdown… stop ■■■■■■■■, ■■■■■■!
I’m also eager to hear the decision soon, God help me! :)

Gahhhh, omg I’m SO nervous! I’m basically convinced that I’ll be rejected (from what I’ve seen on here at least), but there’s still that little thread of hope…

For some reason, I don’t have alot of nervousness or anxiety about this. For columbia I think that the whole process went very well, so i’m hoping that I get admitted.

Why is my countdown clock gone? I logged in before and I had to agree read through something and agree to it and then I was directed to a similar page but instead of a clock it says, “Regular Decision Notification System
Submission Status: Submitted
Submitted Date: 12/15/2010 EST”
I liked the clock…

Where is the countdown? I logged in and can’t see it lol.

you’re right! i was planning on logging in half an hour early on wednesday and watching the countdown count down… :(

^ omg me too! i was gonna watch the seconds tick to 0 and magically appear as a letter! but now its gone lol guess i won’t be doing that…

Did anybody try to check their financial aid status and notice that their “my documents” tab is gone ?

@GodgivenWealth

Yeah, if you go on the undergraduate’s website, it says on the side, “Admissions online document tracking for Regular Decision candidates is no longer available. We will notify candidates of their decisions on March 30, 2011.”

SInce decision day is day after tomorrow, I guess they took it down since they don’t see any reason as to why applicants would need to track their docs now, since decisions have been finalized.

as a deferred applicant i’ve been trying since dec. 9th to treat it as an absolute rejection. for awhile, i succeeded. when i thought about the tough decisions that i would potentially have to make between colleges, columbia was a non-factor. i periodically forgot that i’d even been deferred. as decisions approach, however, my mental efforts to prevent further disappointment (which i experienced after my deferral despite my best attempts to convince myself that i would be rejected) seem to have gone to waste. the simple prospect of receiving a final decision has reminded me that my future with columbia is not entirely certain. the fact that i have been accepted to all of the schools i have heard from so far, including uchicago and swarthmore, should be relaxing and reassuring; instead, my streak of acceptances so far is rekindling false, irrational hopes and setting me up, i’m sure, for unnecessary distress when i am inevitably rejected. the evolution of my attitude towards columbia is kind of disturbing…

Axel
I believe you will be one of the lucky ones!!!

so ppl say that the countdown is gone
so i will provide that for you now…haha
1 day, 17 hours 45 minutes, 30 seconds!!!

I know it is a matter of less than 42 hours, but I am just curious whether the interview would have any indication or effect on admissions. I am from a ‘major’ city in midwest, but was never contacted for an interview, while all other ivy schools did.

^I’m sure there are people who have never been interviewed who have been accepted, while there are others who have been interviewed and do not get accepted. fret not!
