<p>If you look on last years Columbia transfer thread, people started posting decisions around May 10, so I’d say that’s a reasonable estimate for this year.</p>

<p>Oh wow, gremfu22, thanks! I’m still getting used to this site, so I hadn’t found that thread yet. Guess I just saw that comment a couple pages back about some e-mail being sent out April 28th, and I got excited.

Just called and a woman said it’s not going to be till after May 1st.</p>
<p>I called today too and she said told me mid-may. Oh well, I’d rather it be after finals anyway.</p>
<p>Yeah, I got an email response (I asked when it would be released because of deposit deadlines at other schools) and the senior assistant director at the office of undergrad admissions wrote “As of now, it is likely transfer decisions will be released on May 14th.” So there ya go.</p>
<p>well i honestly cant wait till we get these answers. i have been wanting to go here my whole life cause im from ny lol. i got into cornell yesterday so thats a good way to start. cant wait till may 14th</p>

<p>does anyone know if junior transfers have to dorm? i got my credit evaluation from cornell, and they accepted a ton of my AP credits (40 out 60 credits total i got for APs at my current school). i would rather not dorm just to save a little money because i’d have to pay the tuition out of pocket.</p>

<p>I don’t think juniors have to dorm. But do you live in Manhattan? Cause I always thought that the dorms in Columbia were one of the cheaper options.</p>

<p>I’m kind of shocked nobody has mentioned this, maybe I’m the only silly girl who watches Gossip Girl but…anybody else laugh at the fact that they claimed Columbia decisions would go out by e-mail tomorrow (meaning today)? And that the admissions counselor just casually told Blair that she was accepted as a transfer?
I personally think it is sort of hilarious…</p>

<p>I always hate on these television shows when these random rich children magically get into prestigious schools (like Amanda Bynes in What A Girl Wants getting into Oxford).</p>
<p>That is so funny, I JUST watched that movie Saturday night! (My friends and I had an awful movie marathon). But yes, that always ****es me off too. Like, no way could Amanda Bynes not get into NYU but oh, she gets into Oxford as an American, no big deal.</p>
<p>And yeah…you don’t really know whether or not Blair is a competitive applicant because they literally never once show her attending class, or talking about class, or even worrying about class. All she does is complain about how much she hates NYU…it is a pretty awful show, but it’s fun to make fun of.</p>
<p>The best part is, she didn’t even submit an application…her (now ex-) boyfriend submitted it for her without telling her. Like he had access to her grades, SAT scores, wrote essays for her, etc…</p>
<p>So yeah basically I just think its kind of a hilarious plot.</p>
