A friend of mine was offered a place in CAS last friday
@r8ns8n I’m positive lol. She got into CAS a while ago
On what basis do they assess the Waitlist applications? Like is there any preference?
@CiccioPenn i assume that they try to make the most “diverse” class as possible. So if an athlete were to decline admissions, then adcom might look for a similar athlete from the WL. But idk
Wait guys someone is already getting accepted off of the waitlist to Columbia???
@grundeis the poster said last Friday, what is CAS?
@ambkeegan This looks like they are talking about the Cornell spring admission which was last Friday lol
hey guys I’m sorry I know this isn’t the right thread but has anyone heard anything about the Princeton waitlist? the CC page only has 5 posts and know there has heard anything yet. please help it would mean a lot
no one*
They’re referring to UPenn and their College of Arts and Science
@grundeis Columbia has not yet gone into their waitlist from what I’ve heard. No telling if they will, though.
@roaree is there a probability that the applicants on the waitlist won’t be considered for admission this year?
@butumu Dude, if they weren’t using the waitlist, they’d have released us by now. A few people will be admitted.
Princeton closed its waitlist for Class of 2022
Does Columbia discourage against a counselor email?
Or is it okay to send one from a school person…?
ye so far MIT, Princeton, and Yale have all decided to not take anyone off their wait lists this year
But the good thing is that most top-notch schools accept people from the same pool… so if MIT, Princeton, and Yale had high yields, maybe Columbia didn’t. Does anyone else think tomorrow might be the day judging by last year?
tbh i actually agree with you. So Cornell and UPenn took alot of people off their waitlists. Cornell for the last 3 years took nobody off the engineering waitlist, this year they took alot. Similar story will UPenn. Hopefully Columbia comes thru
Well Cornell is taking zero people off of the 2018 waitlist according to their claims in 2019 ppl’s emails, so…idk if it’s such a good sign after all
@grundeis I’m pretty sure they were talking about Penn
