Columbia University High School Program

10iswarrior,
You are pathetic. Why would you say DDC is for the impoverished? Before saying things, please take the time to actually research the program. DDC is for all social classes, which you were too stupid to realize. Although I’m in the High School Program Session 1, I plan on joining DDC’s program. Now I know that there are immature and illiterate kids like yourself that discriminate such programs just because you see a group of them and assume they are “impoverished”. I hope I do not see you in my last two days at the program.

I apologize for my word choice, but there’s no reason to berate somebody on an internet forum. People are mistaken and make mistakes and I admit I made a mistake. Calling people stupid, immature, and illiterate doesn’t reflect upon who they are, but instead who you are.

I am in the business of sports class also. i am super pumped for the class.

BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!
honestly I had sooo much funn, I miss it incredibly and it just ended yesterday. I would so go for another three weeks. Oh and the post like older ones talking about the curriculum, is not true. I heard that every class is very challenging and is an intensive college prep course. I hope you guys have as much fun as I did. If you have an questions ask me !

10iswarrior:
I too apologize for being too harsh. It is only because during my experience in the summer high school program, I have heard many of my fellow programees talk about how lucky those kids get into a program that is housed by such a prestigious school. Again, I apologize, but next time, please, double check your word choice.

hey guys i am doing session 2

it’s tomorrow!!!
any thing i should bring in particular?

davidzhao8

be ready to have so much fun!

if you’re dorming I’m not sure bc I commuted lol.

I miss everyone from session 1 so much

Is anyone thinking of applying to the 2011 program? Either 1st or 2nd session?

For people that have already been - whats the experience like? Do you get free time? Are the people generally chilled or are they nerdy?

Thanks x

DarshK

i went to the 2nd session of the columbia program and im thinking of applying to the 2011 program cause I HAD the BEST time of my life.

this program is SUPER CHILL and i mean CHILL. It’s as chill as you want it to be.
I went out every single day of the program - that tells u how chill it is but at the same time you do have homework and the teachers are amazing

I go to NYC every summer to visit family, so I just plan on being a commuter.

People that were commuters in 2010 did you feel left out?
Did you really not get invited to the goodbye party???
Also, did you not get invited to some (or any) of the evening activities?

Knowing that will help a lot in my decision for applying for this years program in 2011. :)

Anyone going for “Mathematical Boot Camp For Budding String Theorists” this summer of 2011?! :)

i just sent in my application for 2011 summer session 2, and im ziked from reading all these comments…is college prep a really time consuming program though?

anyone applying to this program for materials science? I really want to go this program but since reading all this negative feedback about it being too much about socializing and not about studying, I’m worried that this program is similar to a “scam.” It’s definitely not worth $7000, but is it really that bad? Please help!

Anyone attending the second session this year? I’m accepted to the science of psychology and I want to learn more about the course so if anyone has information reply please!

I just got accepted to the Science of Psychology also! But I’m still not sure if I’m going to go. Their is no way my family could afford the 3k, so I’m waiting to see how their payment plans are like. But they haven’t replied yet.
So if anyone knows what their payment plans are that would really help!

I will be attending “Intensive seminars in modern chemistry” session 1! Can’t wait!!!

Is anyone doing survey of modern mathematics…

Hey lauangela, how the communicating with consumers program was? I’m applying for it and I was just wondering what your experience was with it…hopefully I’ll get in!!

I’m going to session 2 for materials science. but havent decided wether go to columbia summer school or harvard :)

i got accepted to both sessions?
how was the experience? was it fun?
