Committing to another school after being rescinded from another?

Hello! So I've already SIR-ed to the University of California, Riverside, but I had received a deficient grade. I was wondering that if I find out in the summer that my acceptance has been rescinded, can I still commit to CSULB? Even though it way past May 1? Or should I consider CC?

You can’t SIR at another school after May 1st. If you end up getting rescinded from Riverside go to CC and TAG to a UC after two years.

I hear that some people double deposit?

@ledkatarina‌ Theoretically you can do that…but it’s an ethical “no no” and could come back to bite you

From Collegeboard’s website for professionals

“Why is double depositing unethical?
It’s deceitful. Students know they can only attend one college, so they are essentially lying when they notify more than one that they intend to enroll.
It’s unfair to the college. If the practice continues, colleges may find they can’t predict the size of the incoming class with any accuracy. They may take actions such as enlarging the waiting list or increasing deposit amounts (both of which will impact future applicants).
It’s unfair to other applicants. The double depositor is taking up a spot that could go to another student, who will instead be put on a waiting list or turned down.”

Some colleges reserve the right to rescind your admission if you make a double deposit -and yes they can find out since some counselors would notify the school of your double commitment.

Hey I was in the same situation as you were. I really wanted to go to Cal Poly, but I got a D in AP Calc. According to the terms or conditions, every grade needed to be above a C-. I emailed the admissions people a few weeks ago and they said to send in my transcripts. I sent them in and they said indirectly that they would rescind my admission so now I’m going somewhere else. Not that big of a deal considering I was already having a tough time deciding between the two.

Hope everything goes well!
