Common Ap/Regular Ap

Hello

I have a question regarding the common application. My counselor and teachers have all sent common app froms for my colleges. All my colleges accept the common application, but am I allowed to do their actual application on my own? Some of the colleges don't include that extra essay with the common app, but on their application they do and I feel it's important to do it.

My question- Is it okay for teachers/counselors to send in the common app form and then for me to fill out the original college application form?

Another question- Is it required for me to send SAT scores to each of my colleges (Collge Board reporting service- $9.00 each)? Gosh, it just shows you how much the College Board is making off students. My transcript will have my SAT/ACT scores...why is required to send it again?

Thanks!

Some colleges want your scores sent directly from the testing agency...others will accept the scores from your transcript. Check with each school before dishing out the cash to have them sent. :)

definitely check with each school

i was an idiot, but luckily it only cost me $9.

i'm sure it couldve been a lot more

i don't know if mixing common app and regular app is such a good idea, but i don't think it'll matter (i assume you mean that ur guidance councellor sent the common app "school report" form")

but doing the school's app is always good because it still exists for a reason.

Yes, my counselor and teachers sent in their common app forms (I wanted to make it as easy as possible for everyone and this was the only way since I'm applying to more than 5 colleges)

I called the university and they said that was okay...but I'm unsure if they fully understood my question- Is it okay for teachers and counselors to send in the common app forms (which is basically the same as the university) and I send in the actual college application?
