Most of my clubs and activities (which are on my common app activities list) which correlate with my passions I began junior year, because that is when I recognized my interests and passions. Should I put in the additional info of the common app that I recognized these interests beginning junior year and started working towards them? Because it may look from my activity section right now I started the majority junior year and don’t have much commitment.
I would not
I can see where you’re coming from, but it could convey that you don’t think your app is strong enough, and that’s not the message you want to send.
I know there’s not much room in the descriptors for the activities but maybe you could somehow work in some language about ‘discovering your passion’ in that section. And your essays are of course another option.
Good luck!
I would not put that in. It is perfectly normal for students to figure out their interests as HS progresses – no explanation is needed. Most people do not put anything in the additional information section.
