Common App Address Question

This is probably going to be a bit of a dumb question, but sometimes, you need to ask dumb questions, so here goes...

I live in a neighborhood that doesn't allow for mail to come to your street address (this is what happens when you live on a mountain). This means that I get all of my mail at a PO Box. For my address, should I just put my street address as my permanent home address and then put my PO Box as an alternate/temporary mailing address?

We've had this PO Box since the 90's and we're not getting rid of it anytime soon. Does that mean for the dates that this address is available, I should say that it's available from now until 12/31/2016 (the latest date you can put for an alternate mailing address)?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I really need an answer for this.

Yes.

Yes to both questions?

Hm that seems like a confusing situation. I think you should put your home address as you PR, and your P.O. box as your alt. mailing address until whatever date it says. However, I don’t know if this is the wisest choice, so try to get in contact with your GC and ask.
