At risk of sounding like an imbecile, what should the Common App essay tell about me? I get that it should attest to things not elsewhere listed in the application, but does that mean my personality or…?
Specifically, I did write a draft already, assuming an intent to showcase a particular character trait of mine.
I used the prompt about childhood to adulthood transition. It is about an event that prompted self-discovery and a mental maturation.
I’m looking for a) feedback if my personal statement is actually relevant to the application and
b) general editing advice
I will start out by saying my essay is heavily anecdotal and I wondered if that was both acceptable and integrated well.
