Common App Help

hi so for schools on the common app, does anyone know if my transcripts are sent through my counselor’s “school report” or how does that work?? please reply asap thank you sm

@Gumbymom ur help would be greatly appreciated :slight_smile: thanks in advance !

@rockyx: It has been several years since I had to deal with the common application. At my son’s HS, the transcripts were sent separately from the school report by the HS registrar. The school report is not student specific.

Yes, your counselor sends your HS transcript.

@Gumbymom the issue is I decided over winter break that I want to apply to Stanford and its deadline is January 2nd so I’m unsure how my transcripts would be sent or if its even possible. I added her to all my schools on the common app (including Stanford). she completed the school report and letter of rec. my counselor will not respond to my email so I have no clue what to do

@skieurope ^

Can you go down to your High School if the office is open and put in a request with someone else?

Then you should assume that this is not her first rodeo and she sent what needed to be sent.

Not uncommon if she’s on vacation. If she does not respond, wait until school reopens and ask. If, in the unlikely event that she did not send, she can send then. You won’t get dinged if your transcript arrives a few days late; just make sure your part gets submitted on time.

@Gumbymom my school office will be closed for at least two weeks I believe. I thought transcripts were sent electronically? or does that vary for each school? because when I asked her a long time ago (before deciding to apply to Stanford) she said that as long as I’m on the common app she will handle transcripts but Im not sure if that means they are sent through the common app or if the common app just serves as a way of telling her which schools we are applying to…

@skieurope yeah I’m gonna complete the app regardless I just hope its not a waste of time/money haha. I’m just worried because the deadline is the 2nd and I get back on the 7th + time that it may take to process…

How they are sent is not your concern;the GC knows the drill. There are various means, depending on the HS and college. It’s usually electronic.
