Because the common application site was dead the entire hour before the interview deadline, I submitted my supplement 10 minutes after the day was over so the site says I submitted my supplement 12/11. Is the server crash a good enough reason to extend the interview deadline? Should I call a duke admissions officer and ask? Waiting until the last minute to do these things is a bad idea, but I would have made the interview deadline if not for common application.

^I have a similar question. I did not know the site was down, but nevertheless, I just submitted it. I’m on the west coast, so the time here is 9:43 pm.

My application also records as submitted on 12/11…

Also, the e-mail states: “In order to be considered for an alumni interview in your local area, you need to submit your part of the Common Application OR the Duke Student Supplement by Thursday, December 10.”

Does this require the application fee as well?

Don’t worry about it, I think Duke realized that so they sent me an email this morning containing this:

Because of the large number of applicants and limited number of
committee members, we cannot guarantee an interview for every
applicant; however, local committees will make an effort to
interview students who applied by October 19 for Early Decision
and December 11 for Regular Decision.

Notice December 11th.

^Did you e-mail them about this?

yea did you email them? I never got an email from them after I submitted the supplement…

just to clarify for anyone concerned about the deadline for interviews, it is in fact Dec. 11th (at least for the Atlanta area–I’m assuming it is true for every else)–I received an email today confirming that my supplement was received, which later stated:

“You do not need to take any additional steps to request an interview. Because of the large number of applicants and limited number of committee members, we cannot guarantee an interview for every applicant; however, local committees will make an effort to interview students who applied by October 19 for Early Decision and December 11 for Regular Decision.”

I’m guessing there were a lot of people who had similar issues, so they just extended to December 11th.

Hope this helps and good luck to all of you Duke hopefuls!
