First things first:

Currently have a 3.75 after one semester at colgate university. Applying to: UVA, georgetown, penn, William and Mary, and vandy. Any of those seem realistic?

In terms of the common app essay, my reasons for transferring are mainly social, rather than intellectual.

Intellectual: not a fan of the intense participation, very small class style experience. (Not a real big deal)
Social: extremely homogenous and hierarchical student body. Fellow students are really catty, stuck up, solely focused on drinking on weekends. Learning does NOT continue beyond the classroom. I am seeking a more open, diverse, larger student body with other things to do on the weekends besides drink. (At colgate on weekends, you either go out and drink or stay I'm and play video games till 3am; there is no in between). I am looking for that in between where there is a lively social scene that does not necessarily focus on getting wasted.

I'm just starting my essay and am looking for help on how to structure it and some beginning ideas. Thanks!
