Communications question

Hey, i recently got into the advertising program at UT
and on my admissions thing it says

"College Of Communication
Advertising (Lower Division)
Bachelors"

and i'm just curious as to what the lower division means

(im guessing it is what you're called before you specify which area you within advertising you want to follow but im not sure)

thanks in advance to anyone replying

I believe that lower division just specifies the course level that you'll be starting out taking, the basics. Everybody takes both lower division and upper division courses for their major. It's nothing against you. :)

(and If you had transferred in as a junior with two years worth of coursework in your major, then you would be taking upper division classes in your major.)
