I want to apply at Notre Dame since commonapp was down and I have a second chance, but they don't have my major. What do they have that will be similar to communications?

I was thinking either the Television concentration in the Film, Television, and Theatre major but I don't really think thats for me. So instead, maybe American Studies?

American Studies is a lot closer to History / Political Science, not close to communications. I do not know specifically what you are trying to get into, but I would say the closest thing that I know of is FTT (specifically, the Television you refer to)

well i was admitted at Boston College into the College of Arts and Sciences. I was planning on majoring in communications with a concentration in broadcast journalism.

there is a journalism minor, but communications no longer exists because Fr. Hesburgh thought it was just a holding pattern for football players in the 70s.

that's really interesting about Fr. Ted! I'm in the same situation, cohen139, but I am thinking about American Studies at ND because there's always grad school

yeah i applied with american studies as my major. my brother goes there and says its really easy to change though. so who knows? i would do journalism. anyone know if there are concentrations within the major?

EDIT:: i'm not seeing journalism on the website. does it exist?!

From what I know, no.

There is a Journalism, Ethics, and Democracy program as a minor, but no journalism major.

oh. i misinterpreted bpayne. my bad.
