Ok, so I'm currently a freshmen at the University of Tennessee in my first semester. I plan on attending medical school at Vanderbilt (dream) or UTC (reality) in hopes of becoming a psychiatrist.

Due to financial reasons, I may end up transferring to Vol State Community College next semester.. where I may stay until the end of my sophomore year (total of 3 semesters). At the start of my Junior year, I expect to be back at the University of Tennessee to finish things up.

You know the drill. I know what kind of student I am so I expect my GPA to be floating around a 3.4/3.5 when I graduate from UTK. What are my chances of getting into Vanderbilt Medical? And what else would I have to do to make it more of a reality? And would UT Medical always be there, or should I be worried about that too?

All input would be greatly appreciated!
