Community College student looking for Sports Management School

I am current sophmore at Harper Community College in Palatine, IL. I am looking to transfer to a school with a strong Sports Management program. I will have completed 61 hours of credit and acquired my Associates in Arts by the end of this current semester(spring 2010). What are my chances of being accepted as a Junior in Fall 2010 and graduating on time(Spring 2012)? Looking for ANYONE who has taken this route, as I have yet to come across someone who has not spent four years at the university from which they receive their SM degree. Thanks.

South Carolina.

How much can you afford to spend? Is money no object?

Going out-of-state will likely be expensive.

Washington State

Money isn’t that big of a deal, 2 years of community college ran me about 5 grand total so that opens up my ability to afford out of state. South Carolina and Washington State: Did you go there personally or did you hear through the grapevine that these were good schools?

Yeah, I bet most programs are going to be a state univ’s – so unless there’s one in your own state, you’ll get stuck with out-of-state tuition.

University of Oregon has one of the oldest programs. It’s gotten a lot of recognition over the years.

The non-resident cost of attendance (COA) for the following schools…

U Wash: $37,000 per year

U Oregon: $35,000 per year

U South Carolina: $33,000 per year

COA = tuition, fees, room, board, books, misc.

Are the above costs affordable? If so, great!

^^^ while U Dub may have a program, I really don’t know, I was referring to Washington State. Not the same campus. WSU has an oos tuition of 19,565 but if the OP is in a WUE state it may be even less!

Total COA for an oos student is under 34K. This puts the price somewhere between private and public in state. OP has already said that two years at CC has saved them so much that oos is not an issue

I go there now and am in the SM program.

Thanks for the correction about Washington State…

the OP lives in Illinois…

True, but the OP may not have realized how high OOS costs are. It can be shocking sometimes. LOL

However, if the OP has $60k - $70k saved to spend on his/her education, then no problem. :)
