Long story short, I didn't take high school seriously. I live in Florida where schooling is nearly free with all the grants, loans, etc. I didn't even bother applying for any universities due to my failures in HS (2.9 GPA) therefore I'm stuck at a community college until further notice. I'm majoring in CS, and I know college will a breeze if I stay attentive; the main factor of my poor HS performance was my excessive computer usage so I want to get as far away from my PC as i possibly can. Before I drivel off subject, I should state my question... how long would I need to remain in a community college before FSU or UF would accept me (if I maintain impeccable grades throughout my stay at the local community collage)?

I also have another small dilemma. I want to major in computer science, mostly because of how experienced i am already, but I've had legal issues with this. Would having charges such as conspiracy to commit computer hacking and mass malware distribution thwart my future job opportunities or even dream schools (FSU/UF)? I've had to deal with possible bans from the internet which effected my online schooling and work at the time. Would this effect my major? I really want to get away from my past, but attending a community college living at home isn't really helping the cause.

Tl;dr

What does it take to transfer to UF or FSU from a community college?
