Community College vs High School Recommendation

I asked my pre cal CC professor if she could write me a letter or rec, but I’m not sure if I’d really want her to. She doesn’t know me very well (only 6 weeks into the class), but I have aced her last two tests and hold the highest grade out of all of her classes totaling 200 students.

I currently have a LOR from my high school teacher who taught me both Algebra 2 in 10th grade and physics in 11th. I have one from my 11th grade english teacher, my principal, and my employer of 1.5 years.

Do y’all think I need another one?

I would stick with the two HS teachers and the employer. Colleges don’t want to see more than 2 teacher LORs and it doesn’t sound like the CC prof. will know you well enough to say anything more than you did well on the first two exams.

HS all the time. Those rec letters are meat for a college app reader — which shows how you do among your peers. The fact that your #1 in a CC class isn’t as impressive as your genuine interaction among your HS peers.
