Community College vs. University

so im thinking about going to a comminty college them transferring into a university.

MY QUESTION: in community college i can take all my basic classes but i have to make sure that those classes transfers to the university that i'll be transferring to right?

QUESTION #2: when you attend a university whatever you'll be majoring on you will have to take your liberals or basic classes mixed with the classes for your majors, like its not 2 years of basic classes and the next 2 years of your major courses, am i right?

1: Yes. For same-state public universities, there is usually an articulation agreement between the community college and university listing what courses are equivalent, so you know what to take to prepare for your major and fulfill breadth requirements.

2: Yes, in general. Most majors have freshman and sophomore level prerequisites; in many cases, these also fulfill some categories of breadth requirements.
