If I already got our financial aid and it didn't have anything about the community service scholarship, should I assume I didn't get it even though I haven't gotten a rejection letter?

I believe the announcement of awards for community service scholarships are being made sometime this week, therefore what you have listed for financial aid does not contain result. If you receive the award you will probably get another aid letter outlining differences.

If they're coming out this week, then that's great news. I came here specifically to ask on the original thread, but it seems this one came up too. Cool

three days ago a UGA worker at tulane posted on the facebook "tulane high school network" group this:

Hi guys- Community Service Winners should be notified in the next week.

Thanks for the confirmation that they haven't been awarded yet. There is still hope...... Jef is one of the admissions officers so he definately knows what he's talking about. SO now we have yet another wait.....

I got my letter yesterday, look at the other thread for details.

ok i havent received a letter...so im guessing that means no?

You should have received a letter either way. I would call the financial aid office to confirm on Monday. I believe a lot of applicants received letters
indicating that they didn't get the scholarship about 1 month ago.

Did you get any kind of confirmation that they indeed received your additional application/project for consideration?

We haven't heard back either. My son submitted an application and we have a delivery receipt but no further aknowledgement or confirmation. Although winners have been notified, it would be appropriate for the school to send something to close the loop one way or another.

Following up with some additional information from admissions:

"We only sent out letters to those students who received the scholarship. It was an incredibly competitive year. We had over 300 applications, and only awarded 20 scholarships."

I think that it would probably be better for the school to send a communication one way or another but it's not the end of the world. Also, it is curious that they ended up awarding only 20 scholarships when the 2008 application specified that "Tulane will award 30 Community Service Scholarships."
