As things stand now, it looks as though I may be commuting to CSULB from the west San Gabriel Valley. Anybody else commuting from that general area? From what I know of the 710, rush hour is pretty specific in the morning, but can get ugly in the afternoon. I'm figuring I might want to set up my schedule to try to do early days (arrive by 7:30 am, leave by 2 pm). But if I need to stay beyond 2 pm, I probably can't leave to get across town until ~7 pm. (Yes, I know it would be great to live in the dorms, especially my first year, but don't think it's in the cards for me.)

That’s part of the reason I’m glad I turned down CSUDH a year ago, and reapplied to CSULB. CSUDH would’ve been a living hell. Despite being 2 miles closer, according to google maps, the drive took a good 40-45 minutes. The campus was nice, and their program seemed more hands on, but the drive sucked.

Anyway, might want to look into this: [Rideshare, carpool at CSU Long Beach - Zimride](http://www.zimride.com/csulb)

Unless CPP accepts me I’ll be commuting to CSULB as well. I’m in mid SGV, near TCHS/AHS/SMHS. :I

Since were talking about commuting, does anyone know how long it takes to walk to class if you live in on campus dorms(parkside, hillside) and off campus dorms(beachside).
