Company Letter?

hahah that'll bring me back to my old wrestling days with those stairs...hahaha not my biggest worry at all.

Anybody else still waiting for the letter? Hope ours isn't lost in the mail!

L Co, 22 Platoon

Talk about getting exciting...

gotousna08 is correct about the 'balance of power' this academic year. My 2/c girl is a squad leader. This goes back to the 'old ways' since my hubby class of 1972 had 2/c as HIS squad leaders, while in the recent past - 1/c ran the squads. I asked my girl how she'll eat when she'll be 'running' the plebes during meals, she remarked casually..."that's why they have 2 of us" ....:-)

Pmarol

Is your son Matt?

22nd company is an excellent company.

We're in PA and still waiting for the letter here too. NOt even in today's mail!

wolfemom: Glad it isn't just us! Our mail hasn't come yet today.

Haven't received mine in TX yet.

I could really use that P.O. Box number now. I've got something I need to order and have shipped there for sailing team.

No letter in CA either. I hope it comes before we leave on Sat.

No letter today in NC.

22 Platoon, L Company as well!

in OR and received my letter today

Delta Company 7th Platoon!

21st... in MT got mine today

What advantage is there of knowing the Company and/or Platoon before I-Day? Arent't the rooms all alike? You won't know your roommate? Maybe you'll find another plebe to be on CC but by the time you do...you will be at the academy?

funnyesq, you're right that there isn't really an advantage to knowing your company ahead of time.

But the kids and parents that are on this forum are all people who HAVE TO KNOW. That's just the way most of us are. That's why we are on this forum in the first place.

So, for most of us, it's just our nature to want to know as much as we can ahead of time.

Plus, it doesn't hurt to ask a mid what your company's reputation is.

EDIT: And I have already met another plebe who is in my company through CC.

Adding to the post above, for me, knowing my company just made me feel better. It gave me something to do while I wait to leave. It allowed me to give out my address to my friends and family, I sent in my absentee ballot registration, and I feel like my affairs are in order. I think the majority of people here are the same way, they want to know that everything is taken care of before they leave. I personally never expected to know my roommate or anything else about my company from the company letter, I just wanted it so I could tie up all the loose ends that were bothering me. That being said, I am really excited for I-day so I can find out the rest!

Our letter came today.
