<p>Could anyone compare Ohio university to Miami university? How much harder is Miami to get into?

<p>It is not harder to get into issue. These are very different places. You need to visit and see yourself. It is not hard to get into either.</p>
<p>Miami is a tad bit harder to get into than Ohio University, but both being public state universities if you have over a 3.0 GPA and an average score on the SAT/ACT, then you should have no admission worries. These are both public institutions which embrace the idea that no individual should be denied an education (you just need the money).</p>
<p>Uhhhhhh, but the two, as MiamiDAP stated, are very different places. Like any college there are the bros and hoes, but the big difference is Miami is a Greek school (Frat/Sorority life IS life!); whereas, OU has a weird melting pot of Greek, Freaks, and Geeks. To be honest, Ohio University has a pretty big hippy culture.</p>
<p>Both good schools though. The choice depends on who you are and who you want to see (or smell, lol).</p>
<p>Miami is only very slightly more selective, I think. They are similar in many ways (rural, public, etc) but overall there are some big differences. You should probably visit to get a better understanding.</p>
<p>DS1 graduated last May from Miami, and DS2 is just finishing up his soph year at Ohio U. So I’ve spent quite a bit of time at both schools. Both sons love their respective schools and can’t imagine having attended anywhere else…</p>
<p>As has been mentioned, you just have to visit and see what “feels” right for you. IMO, you can’t go wrong at either school…good luck!</p>
