Comparison of CSULA, CSULB, and SSU BSN programs (nursing major)

I’m a high school senior c/o 2016 and this fall I’ll be applying to to both CSUF (csu fullerton) and SDSU (san diego state uni) for their direct entry nursing programs.
I will also be applying to CSULA (csu los angeles), CSULB (csu long beach), and SSU (sonoma state university) as back up. My understanding is that these three universities have a 2 step admission process in the nursing department (there is a second selection from enrolled pre-nursing/undeclared students for the actual nursing major students). Does anyone know roughly how many students are selected for the nursing cohorts in any or all of these schools? and out of how many? I’d like to know because as back up schools, I want to choose the least competitive.

Also, can anyone chance me for csuf and sdsu direct nursing programs?
my stats:

csu gpa: 3.91

csu eligibility index: 4407

SAT cr + math: 1280 but I’m planning on taking one more before applying and i should at the very leas be over 1300 by the time I apply

Honors / AP classes: -(9-11) Eng 9H, Eng 10H, Eng 11H, AP Calc AB, AP Gov, AP Macro Econ, AP Bio (I got an A both semesters and a 4 on the AP test),
-(12th grade) AP Stats, AP Psych, AP Lit, AP Spanish Lang

Extracurriculars: -Roots and Shoots officer for 2 years (1 year secretary, 1 year president)
-Red Cross officer 1 year as director of activities
-Crosscountry my freshman year
-volunteer hours from a small local clinic

I think it’ll be helpful to note that SDSU’s past nursing acceptances averaged a 3.96 gpa and 1250 SAT cr+math, but also that from this year on, all their nursing admissions will be direct entry - no more pre nursing majors. My guess is that I will have a higher chance due to the fact that more direct entry students will be accepted (less impaction), but a lower chance because it will become more competitive.

I know SSU offers an accelerated program that is well respected. You go through the curriculum as a single cohort so, you build some really strong bonds. I know less about the others.

Nursing is really competitive at all these schools - most CSUs have supplemental requirements that are easy to miss. Look the their program pages and be sure you’ve taken the right courses. Also, I’d add a few more even with your stats, Fresno and Sac State are good options.

Good luck

thank you!
