Competition vs AP Government

My school participates in a competition called We the People and its all about government. It is a weighted class, but I am wondering if I should take this (comp gov.) or AP gov. Which will look more respect-worthy on my transcript, and which will be more fun/educational. In my school, you take AP econ 2nd semester if you take ap gov. but if you take comp gov. and you move onto nationals, then you never do econ but still get the econ credit. I tend to like econ more than gov., but this class still seems really cool. What should I do?

bump...???

Talk to your teachers and ask for their advice, they know the curriculm best. I would probably take the competition class only if I had other AP classes on my schedule. If you have other AP's id go for the comp class, sounds unique and fun.

I would hve 6 other APs in my schedule, and it's hard to takl to my teachers since my entire school is advertising for the competition class like crazy and trying to get ppl to take it.

I would recommend US Gov't just because the material it covers relates a lot more to "real life," or at least the gov't that we live under (took it last year). I would also have to say that AP US Gov't looks "better" on a transcript than comparative (although you shouldn't base your decision off of this); plus, it's a lot more fun because of the in-class discussions on current events, politics, elections/corrupt politicians :D, etc. In the end, though, you should pick the class that you think you'd enjoy the most and forget about all the competition/transcript junk.

Noo haha I think you may have understood. Comp. doesn't mean comparitive, it means competition, since there is this program called "We the People" where school teams study the Constitution and compete on it somehow (idk how though). I need to decide real soon so can anyone tell me? What will look better, AP or Competitive (not comparitive) Government???

I'm basically equal on everything else, so how colleges view my choice is the tiebreaker. Thanks.

Ohhh, sorry zogoto, I misread your original post (I tend to skim). In that case...I have no idea.

I dunno how colleges would look at the 2, I personally would take the AP gov. Because econ is really interesting, that's a class I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on
