Competitive international SAT1/2 scores?(Non English speaking countries...)

Hi CC international students.
Are there any European students among you, who took the SAT1/2 and didn't study at an international school?
Most of the scores I see are outrageous good, but hey, I would rule such a standart test too if it would be in my first language.(German)
So how did you score and where are you from?

(I think it makes a difference if you're from Germany(all movies are dubbed...) or e.g. Sweden...(no movies are dubbed)!
Sound funny, but I think that's actually a factor...)

I hate to disappoint you, but most students here do not go to an international school and still do very well on the SATs.

I am from Germany too and did very well on my standardized tests, though I have no intentions of posting my scores.

Any other guys who want to share their experiences with these standardized tests?

I was going to share my experience but seeing as how you've reacted to b@r!um's post made me thinking twice about saying something.

I'm from Germany too, English is my 2nd language as well and I scored 700 on the Critical Reading part of the SAT. Now my other scores weren't good, but that's due to lack of focus or whatever.

Just for the record: Top 10 schools won't care if movies in Germany are dubbed or not, they care about your score. And they won't hold attending a local school(e.g. Gymnasium) as an excuse for low standardized test scores. After all chances are that university is going to be much harder than the SAT

And you can take the SAT Subject Test in German. How it's being looked at by the colleges is an entirely different matter, though

That argumentation sucks. Of course you should give international students credit if English isn't their first language...

The situation at the uni will be a whole different one.
Your taught in English, think in English...
That's the time when you can compare international scors to native scores.

Let me cite the former ass. adm. dir. at Dartmouth:
"These (intl, chinese) students would often score over 650 on the verbal section of the SAT I (high for an intelligent US citizen) and often score perfect 800s on both the analytical and quantitative sections of the test".

I don't go to an international school, I don't speak English at home, but I still managed a 710CR.

OP - You've posted a version of this thread in the Princeton forum. I have the feeling that you just want to hear that low SAT scores are okay or expected.

After what elapsed in the other thread, I don't think anything I say will change your mind. If you want to believe your scores are good, and are the best you can do, it'll just be a weak point in your application. That's all.

It is possible to improve your score through practice, so stop complaining about your background and take some action.

hmmm.
I know that my SAT scores are the weakest point in my application.
I'm super annoid that I have to take them after all, but hey...
Sounds like other international students manage to score 700s, so I should be able to do that to.
Although I'm impressed if someone scores 700 in writing, I probably won't be able to do that, even after lot's of prep...

LOTS of internationals don't attend international schools. Many of them have really high SAT scores. Not too many internationals can gain admittance into the top American universities.

You do the math.
