Computer Engineering or General

I am really interested in the following majors as I think both could possibly lead me to a job in ibanking with like a minor in business. I had some questions regarding the two majors.

1) I have been told that General Engineering majors are recruited for ibanking and S/T at UIUC. However, does anyone know if this holds true for Computer Engineering as well? Do recruiters prefer one major over the another?

2) Since GE is in the Industrial Engineering dept, is it disrespected by recruiters?

I guess what I am trying to ask is, which one will give me the best chances of getting a job in ibanking?

Oh, and BTW, the General Eng. program at UIUC is kinda of a business oriented form of engineering. It's not just a general major looking at engineering in a general perspective.

Industrial Engineering is not a disrespectful Eng. major.
even though its called "joke engineering" by CC members it's still on demand.

and the same thing w/ IE OR.

IE is the most business oriented major, and thats why its the easiest compared to Electrical, Mech, Chem etc.

here's a few that have recently employed Penn State IE graduates

Aerospace: Boeing, Lear, Lockheed Martin
Automotive: Chrysler, Delphi, Ford, Honda, GM, Mack Trucks
Communications: AT&T Solutions, Ericsson, Lucent Technologies, AOL Time Warner Computer/electronics: Intel, IBM
Consultants: Accenture, Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte & Touche
Consumer products: Black & Decker, Johnson & Johnson, Proctor & Gamble
Food products: Hershey Foods, Nabisco, Pepperidge Farms, Pepsi
Industrial products: Alcoa, Caterpillar, Corning, Ingersoll-Rand, U.S. Steel

Pharmaceuticals: Bristol-Myers Squibb, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck
Transportation: FedEx Ground, UPS

I couldn't find the job placement data for the ECE department at UIUC. Does anyone know where I met be able to get a hold of it? Want to compare it to the Industrial Engineering dept's placement.

bumppppppp
