I read on the gmu website that incoming freshmen that want to take computer science put have a certain math score on their SAT/ACT, how much is this true or is it just preferred. Bc I don’t have that score on my tests and I am freaking out that this major might not be an option for me?
Hi, I know this is VERY late in response to your August 15th question and I am sure you have found the answer already but in case you don’t know, this is what was explained about Computer Science field in their Engineering field:
“Due to the rigorous nature of our programs, most applicants to the Volgenau School of Engineering, including all Engineering and Computer Science students, are required to attain a 550 on the Math section of the SAT, or a 24 on the Math section of the ACT, and have taken or be enrolled in 4 years of high school mathematics, including a course beyond Algebra II by their senior year. Students who are applying for most Volgenau School of Engineering majors are not eligible to apply as a score optional student. These additional criteria do not apply for Information Technology majors.”
