<p>I 'bought' software from p2p before, but I want to get the newest version of things. Right now, I'm using Microsoft Office 2000.</p>
<p>Just a head's up: Columbia's honor code includes a section on illegal software 'warezing'...I don't remember the exact text, but if discovered it is treated much like cheating on an exam. (i.e. grounds for expulsion). I would advise not using the campus network to exchange software.</p>
<p>There is always going to be a decree of some sorts at various places forbidding people from pirating, some for its public image. Columbia is not going to say that it condones software piracy because that's very bad for its image, so it has to forbid it. But the amount of knowledge and resources gained by its students is most apparent. I also very much doubt it's considered of the same caliber as cheating and grounds for EXPULSION.</p>
<p>But either way, abcdefghijklm, I thank you for bringing this to our attention. Perhaps there is a code regarding this matter and I will definitely be more cautious towards my bandwidth usage.</p>
