I accepted my Appointment in December and sent in all the paperwork in very early January. Is it unusual not to have received any word (or returned birth certificate) over three months after sending it all in? I have not heard anything since I sent my acceptance certificate, record check, body alterations form, panorex, etc., so I don't even know for sure whether they received it.

The academies do take a lot of time to answer and go through stuff, but if you have any concerns, just call your counselor there and see what's going on.

BTW, when you accept your appointment, do you have to mail all the other paper work (dental, criminal, body alterations, etc.) with your acceptance at the same time? I ask this because I'm getting my wisdom teeth out in a couple weeks and would rather send my acceptance in now rather than with my dental form in a couple weeks.

3 months to not have your original birth certificate returned does seem like a long time.

Strong Suggestion For all mailings to Navy, pay the little bit extra for delivery confirmation and/or returned receipt. Saves a world of worry and phone calls. One of our sons pieces went MIA and within days, not weeks he resubmitted.

Does the permit to report have anything that needs to be sent back to the Academy? Because I will not be able to get my package until begining of June...

Get the tracking/confirmation one that you can do online. Not only do you get peace of mind, you can track its steps to the Naval Academy and check the exact time it was delivered. It should be less than a dollar more to get the service.

No. I think all the forms are paper hard copies. I think what Clif meant was to pay the USPS to get a tracking number, so that you can track and confirm delivery of the package online on the USPS website.

^^^To piggyback Steve, I strongly encourage you Plebes To Be, before you send ANY hard copies to USNA, make copies of everything. Like our son, you may need those copies, copied and resent before I-Day.

Oh sorry about the confusion -- yes I meant with USPS. When you go to mail them, ask for them for tracking coverage and you can check where your package, and when it arrives online.

It is not provided by USNA. After you know they have gotten it, give it a day or two for the office to process it and then it's pretty safe to call to check they have everything. =)
