Confused about Course Requirements

I'm an OOS junior and will be applying to TAMU next fall. I'm confused about the high school course requirements shown on the admissions website. I will have 4.5 years of English, 5 years of math (including a 5 credit college calculus class and AP Stats), 4.5 years of science and 4 years of foreign language, but I don't think I have the equivalent of the "recommended or distinguished achievement high school program" courses. It looks like you need World History, World Geography, US History, US Government and Economics. I'll have US History, AP Euro, Middle Eastern Studies (1 semester course), African American Studies (1 semester course) and AP Econ. No World Geography, no US Government, nothing called World History (although I think the combination of AP Euro and my area studies classes are the equivalent of World History). I have a 31 ACT (taking it again this month) and a 3.8 GPA (school doesn't rank). Will my lack of the proper social studies courses keep me from getting automatic admission?

Also, do my stats look high enough for any academic scholarships?

check with admissions on the course question. seems like you have plenty, but i am not sure about the answer to your question.

as for your stats and scholarships … i wouldn’t count on any $$ from A&M. the only kids i have seen get $$ offers from a&m are kids with NMF qualifications.

I would call Admissions for your questions just like MikeWozwski said. However, there are some scholarships that you can receive and not be NMF. All you need to do is get a $1000 scholarship from A&M to get in-state tuition. I would certainly ask about this when you call. Better yet, come to A&M and speak to financial aid and admissions.
