Just got the invoice of about $4,500 but none of my financial aid or anything is showing up. When will it be disbursed? I know the deadline is the 31st and in WA it has the amount of each loan i was approved for and accepted, but the invoice shows nothing but the total.

It doesn’t show pending financial aid? Because you should’ve received your tuition fees as well and unless you’re taking 6 or 7 credits… the total cost should not be 4500 without any pending aid subtracted.

there’s no pending aid. I’ve only been charged with room & board & cable.

and i haven’t even signed up for classes yet since i have fall orientation but i’m definitely going to be taking more than 7 credits

You need to call the financial aid office tomorrow and figure this out.

So the total should have included the tuition as well? Maybe this has something to do with the fact that I haven’t been to orientation yet?

My main concern is the financial aid though. I’m getting really nervous that it isn’t showing up.

I am not sure why it’s not either, I have pending aid showing up. It probably wouldn’t show your tuition since you haven’t registered for classes yet, but I don’t know. You must call tomorrow and get this straightened out. The university has messed up on my billing numerous times this past summer and they are not immune to error. You need to know what is going on.

if you haven’t been to orientation, i.e. you haven’t registered for ur classes yet, then you won’t be assessed the tuition fees, because when you register for classes, before u finalize ur schedule, you have to agree to the charge of tuition fees.

I’m sorry for hijacking this thread. But I’m on that 10 month payment plan. Do I pay all of this invoice now?

No. You make your payments to the plan, which sends you a separate invoice, A credit for the amount of your plan total will show up on your UM invoice

If you do have pending aid, when does it become available to be used for paying the charges? Or is it already available to pay the charges?

Isn’t it that you don’t get financial aid unless you’re a full-time student (12 credits +) So since you haven’t been to orientation yet, that means you haven’t registered for classes and haven’t established that you’re a full-time student, which would explain why no pending aid is shown. This is only to make you less-worried for the weekend, still call them on monday for a clarification on this.

when do we get an invoice from sallie mae?

Seriously guys. Pick up phones and make calls. When things show up on wolverine access/come in the mail/etc is not universal. These things are important enough that you need an actual answer. Call financial aid, call sallie mae, and take care of your business.
