Fall Tuition

Does anyone know when to expect the Fall tuition invoice to show up online? I see Fall housing is due by Aug. 7th and kind of thought these bills would show up around the same time to help figure out FL Prepaid/Bright Future dispersements.

I’ve been wondering that too…they told us at orientation in the beginning of June that the fee invoice would be up july 10…I wonder what’s taking them

If it’s anything like Summer, I expect to see the fee invoice for Fall one week after the add/drop deadline, which is usually a week after classes start. Fall tutition is due September 4th, two weeks after classes start.

Perhaps this info will help:

http://www.housing.ucf.edu/news_ann.php?ID=fall09

If you have anticipated financial aid, you can use the formula listed below to calculate the amount due on your part. You will not be charged a late fee if you make payment on the un-deferred portion responsible by you by the due date. Please note the following is just an example. Your actual aid, tuition and housing amount could be different.

Your available financial aid (for example): $4000
Minus Tuition (for example): $1500
Minus Housing charges (for example): $3105

Equals the amount you are responsible for: $(605)

It is your available financial aid minus tuition, minus housing charges and if you come up with a negative number that would be the amount you are responsible for. If you have Florida Prepaid Dorm plan and your room charge is higher than $2630, you need to pay the difference responsible by you before the due date.

I’m anxious to know how much the tuition will increase.

Part of it is up now.

i was just at orientation and the lady said that hopefully, it’ll be up by the end of the week or next week.

I just logged on and saw that Fall tuition is up and complete.

Thanks… They must be doing something as the system is slow and some screens would not show up. I did get to the fee page and am happy to know what my bill will be.

Let the checks start rolling. lol.

Does anyone know when Florida Prepaid shows up?

So to anyone who’s continuing, did tuition rise?

I’m praying this is a mistake.
My tuition for 12 credit hours is $3,312

15 credit hrs is sitting at 2070.30 plus fees and differential tuition. total 2352.75.

Total cost of my D’s 13 credit hours is 1866.72. This is with the technology fee and materials/supply fee. I don’t really understand how this works. Our FPP rate has not shown up yet but bright futures covers about 1200 of it.

It was a glich. Now it’s like $1700

I think I have read in the past that Florida Prepaid Tuition pays the remainder of the tuition invoice and then other expenses with the excess money, after the Bright Futures is applied. We do not have the dorm coverage, only the tuition. I am wondering if I should hold off on paying for the housing fee until FPP shows up, or if I need to go ahead and just pay it now. Anyone have experience with this?

We have FPP and 75% Bright futures. I went ahead and paid the housing fee. The tuition will be paid first by FPP and then the bright futures will pay the leftover fees (we don’t have the local fees plan). Any leftover bright future money (last year there was about 700$) will be auto deposited in my daughter’s suntrust account (we set up autodeposit on myUCF). IOW, FPP is applied FIRST, then BF. It is done after drop/add, around the first week in September. Go ahead and pay the housing now. If money is tight, you can call and ask to speak to one of the accountants at UCF. They will help you figure out what you would owe (after FPP and BF). I prefer to just let whatever the excess from the Bright Futures is be put into my daughter’s account for her expenses. This year it will be less than last year due to recent changes in bright futures.

I thought Florida Prepaid paid first, then Bright Futures…is this correct?

Thanks for the info! We have the exact setup with the 75% Bright Futures and the FPP. We don’t have the suntrust account though and weren’t planning on getting one, so I wonder what happens with the leftovers in that scenario. I will go ahead and pay the housing then. :-)

You don’t need suntrust. You can auto deposit to any bank account alongwait. Just go on the myUCF website and set it up.

To set it up look for the link “student direct deposit” under the other accounts on the list.

peace- you have it correctly…first FPP, then BF gets applied to the bills.

Sigh … this is the first time we’ll have to pay anything for tuition/fees. Drat legislature for the “less than 100 percent bright futures.” D will have it even worse … by the time she graduates in 4 years, it’ll pay … what? something like 60-70 percent. Double sigh …
