Confused about rescinded policy

so i had a 3.3 unweighted cumulative gpa and a 3.45 cal poly weighted gpa 9-11 going into Cal Poly when I got accepted.

1st semester gpa sr year i got 3.3 unweighted and 3.5 cal poly weighted, so im good.

but 2nd semester ive been slacking, i have 4 Cs and 2 Bs haha…

now, im positive none of those Cs will go to Ds. But Cal Poly had 2 policies: the first to pass all your classes and not get any Ds or Fs, which I will be fine with. The second is maintaign your given cumulative gpa… which that doesn’t really specify anything at all.

can anyone explain what that means / tell me whether I’m good or i should start working really hard to get those grades up?

thanks

i had that exact same confusion…
from what i understand, your GPA can drop by like o.3 and you’ll be fine…but definitely keep C or higher in every class…
but yeah any more specific info or examples would be awesome!

cumaltive gpa? or gpa from last time?

if anyone knows for sure about this policy please let us know!!

I called the guidance office and some guy called Larry said that your CUMULATIVE gpa has to decrease by 0.5 or more for you to even be considered for rejection. He then said the Dean of Students will make a decision from there. To me it sounded like there’s a very small chance of them rescinding your acception. I’m pretty much in the same position but I’m gonna aim for a 3.0 just to be safe.

My overall college gpa was like a 3.33 weighted. First semester i got a 3.6 weighted. this semester im probably going to get a 3.0 weighted with 3 C’s and 2 A’s. should i be worried??

as long as your average of each class is a C or higher you should be fine…

ya hopefully. i just wish that they were like the UC and said exactly what it had to be…

hah i hear yeah i was [and still kinda am] confused on the whole thing lol
basically, they won’t even consider to rescind you unless your gPA drops by 0.5 and you have lower then a C in a class…

just get a C or above in all your classes
