So close..Chance of being rescinded?

So yep..I really screwed up. I have a 3.333 weighted first semester and a 2.666 weighted second semester which combined is 5.999 and averages out to be a 2.999 since my school shows the gpa for each term to three decimal places. Does this equal an automatic rescindence since I don't meet the 3.0 senior year gpa?

Uhm, I doubt it. But that's just my opinion, I don't really know what UCI would say.

scared little boy, not at all.

just tell them about it.

Thanks for the replies.. I am really trying to bring one of my Cs up to a B so i get a 2.8 weighted this semester but when I tell them about it. Who do I call? What do they say or what do I tell them?

send message to admissions counselor through the myapplication thing or whatever

I think that, assuming you took the same number of courses both semesters, it should come out to a 3.0, mathematically speaking.

If you don't mind, what exactly was the distribution of grades for both semesters?

is is for sure weighted? because my college counselor at school says it is unweighted...i'm confused

weighted for UCI

unweighted for LA, BERK

1st semester:

AP Class: B
Reg Class: A
AP Class: C
Reg Class: B
Reg Class: B
Reg Class: B

3.000 unweighted, 3.333 weighted

2nd semester(not completed yet but most likely)

AP Class: B
Reg Class: C
AP Class: C
Reg Class: C
Reg Class: C
Reg Class: B

2.333 unweighted, 2.666 weighted

My school shows the GPA to three decimal places. When i got a 4 As and 2 Bs for a semester in junior year, it showed it as 3.666, instead of 3.67 or 3.667 : (.

they calculate as a whole so itll be 3.0.

It just truncates instead of rounding.

DWAI.

Alright thanks guys, I'm still gonna try to study hard for this final and bring up a grade. Thanks again.

OMG..Anyway I called UCI today again and I asked them about the senior contract, they are now telling me that it is a 3.0 weighted each semester. I called last time and I explicitly asked them if it was a 3.0 average of both semesters and they had told me yes.

In the contract it reads.
Your senior-year GPA in UC-approved courses must be at least a weighted 3.0. With SENIOR YEAR in bold. I also messaged someone through MyAdmissions and received the reply.
You must maintain a 3.0 weighted gpa overall.

I guess I misinterpreted everything.. Can't believe this is happening.

ohhh sheeeet.
i need to suck up to my math teacher tomorrow in order to get it to a 3.0 weighted. :(

You should call them again, or go see them in person. Because it does say "senior-year GPA". Really, just go talk to them in person.

I don't get how people have such significant grade drops? I mean I slacked off 2nd semester (didn't do homework for 3 months in 3 out of 4 AP classes--Econ, Calc BC, and Stats) but somehow I managed to get a higher GPA this semester. LOL 4.33 from "slacking off"

Well I called again today, it was a guy this time. Now he tells me its your senior year GPA not each semester. Hope he's right!
