First off, I’m sorry for having to post in a random forum space but I ran out of private messages to send. This is Dan Wild again, the USNA Candidate you talked to last night.

I have some great news (and somewhat ironic as well)!!! I received a letter today from the Coast Guard Academy… and it was a LETTER OF ASSURANCE! I couldn’t believe it but it was because of my performance as a leader at their AIM summer program. Only 3% of the people who attended this summer were offered letters. So there it is, I’ve been accepted to one of the best colleges in the nation. I am still in disbelief. I just thought I’d let you know!

GO BEARS, for now, until I hear from Navy :)

Congrats Dan! I PMed you. Clean out some of your older stuff. Let me know if you don’t get it.! Delighted for you! This relieves alot of pressure, and will aid your primary interest.

I received an email from my admissions officer at the Naval Academy telling me that I am scholastically qualified by the Board. They also said, “LOAs are granted on a rolling basis, and due to the competitiveness of your record, you may receive one”. Does this mean I am going to get an LOA? Would they say that without already knowing that I had received one?
