Congratulations on making deadline! (or not)

w00t! We have made deadline!

Post if you made it!
(and post if you didn't so we can laugh...j/k)

Yep, I submitted with an hour to spare after staring at my applications for days. :)

Now I only have two applications due on Jan. 15 and another on Feb. 1 . . . let the procrastination begin!

if it was submitted at like 12:01 you think youre fine?!

I got it in at 11:57:12! an extra 2:57 to spare!

dude i'm so ****ed off right now....

ok so here's my story: i was submitting my app to two colleges, right? so i submit it to college 1 with the app and payment and everything. ok! so when i submit my supp and payment to college 2, THE COMMON APPLICATION WOULDN'T LET ME GO BACK AND CHANGE THE NAME OF THE COLLEGE IN THE PERSONAL ESSAY ON THE APPLICATION EVEN WHEN I TRIED TO ACCESS THE COPY OF THE APPLICATION SPECIFICALLY FOR COLLEGE 2. WHAT IN THE WORLD.........

but i made the deadline for both, but i'm still pretty heated right now

Mine won't submit. It says I have to invite my teachers and GC but they already sent those in by mail.

I get you caffeinaholic :P!

I was awake until 6AM last night and woke up at 11, so I could finish my essays. I submitted at 11:30PM. All this because I procrastinated all winter.

The funny part is, I have another one due tommorow, and I'm ALREADY procrastinating! When will I learn?? :D

?!? yikes.
someone calm my nerves??

I literally submitted my last essay at 11:59! I'm so glad it's done! Now I've just got Claremont McKenna tomorrow and USC on the 10th.

WOW, so I was using a slow laptop that made me go back and fix something on Dartmouth. I then reselected Dartmouth and non of the others because I assumed they were already in. It was 11:58 mind you. I then realize my others aren't in.

As I figure it out, I submit and it's 12:00...

I have to call BU, BC, Tufts and Syracuse tomorrow. Yay!

so are those 2 minutes gonna be a killer?
the supplement and payment was in just not the app.

@egoossens - you have to invite your teachers, even if they're submitting the reports by mail.

I'm done. :)

so uh did anyone encounter the same prob i did? ( see previous post ) now i can't go back and change anything for any other college apps.... and i have one due tomorrow so it would be cool if i could get this fixed ASAP

College:

Wait a second, you actually wrote a specific university's name on the common app essay? Why dude? It's supposed to be about the topic they give you. They mail the exact same copy to every college you submit to. Once you submit it to the first college, it becomes locked and you can't edit it.

If I were you, I would call the college where the essay was sent to and clear it up with them. Tell them there was a misunderstanding and fax them the fixed essay.

@college_seeker - I'm not sure if this is your problem, but are you saying that you couldn't change the essay even in another alternate version of the Common App? Because you're suppose to upload a new essay/reupload the essay for each version of the Common App. When you duplicate the apps, the only part that is not duplicated is the essay.

Or are you saying you couldn't change it in the original version of the Common App because once you submit you can't change anything in the version of the Common App submitted. If you want to change the essay, make another version of the Common App, change the name of the college in your essay and save, then upload it to the new version.

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking, but this is all I can think of.

I sent the Common App and Supplements for two of my school before 12:00, but not the payment. Would I be wasting $100+ if I submit the payment now?

Dude, look at this taken directly from the FAQ:

Can I make changes or resubmit my application to a school if I have already submitted it?

...Once an application has been submitted to an institution, you cannot make any changes to that application (just as if you had dropped it in the mail), and we are not permitted to make changes on your behalf. If you need to change information on a submitted application, you must contact the college's admission office directly to ask if they will accept any changes or allow you to resubmit it.

That said, you can create an alternate version, make changes, and submit it to other institutions. Please refer to the instructions section of the application for directions.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I wrote a specific institution's name on it so I could personalize it to some extent for each school....

ok, so instead of doing the same thing at every school, i'll just create a new account and copy my stuff over... i have until tomorrow at midnight for the third college and until the tenth for the 4th college, it's just the second college that i'm slightly screwed at... ugh

^
You don't need to make a new account. Just make an alternate version of the Common App. Everything gets copied over except your writing section, so you can upload a new version of your essay.

Common app --> Help --> Application Information --> How can I create an alternate version of my application? Follow steps.

@ alicimoo

Or are you saying you couldn't change it in the original version of the Common App because once you submit you can't change anything in the version of the Common App submitted. If you want to change the essay, make another version of the Common App, change the name of the college in your essay and save, then upload it to the new version.

Yeah, that's what i'm saying and that's what i'm going to have to do so i'm not screwed at the final two colleges I have to apply to... I just didnt know what once we submitted a complete app on one version of the commonapp, we couldn't go back and change anything for ANOTHER COLLEGE on the commonapp; i hope i'm explaining this clear enough
