Congratz y'all, now my turn ;)

"You do realize the Ivy League colleges check with each other on their applicants, right? Before the admissions officers at the school you apply to even read your app, they check to see whether you have applied to other Ivy League schools (and some other schools, too, I think). This is mainly to make sure the RD students haven't already applied ED somewhere else, and if they have, then the RD college automatically rejects your application."

Is this true? A girl at my school got into Cornell ED last year, yet did not rescind her other applications (even though Cornell was her absolute top choice, and she was more than happy to go). She was still accepted by UCs, Stanford, Princeton, and Penn for RD in April.

"What It Really Takes to Get Into Ivy League and Other Highly Selective Colleges" by Chuck Hughes, a former Harvard admissions officer. That's where I got my information.

I don't know about the situation with the girl at your school. Maybe Cornell forgot to post her as accepted ED or perhaps she lied about her RD acceptances.
