Connecting/private bathrooms?

How uncommon is it to be assigned to a dorm that is equipped with a private or connecting bathroom at UT?

I'm pretty sure that your chances are next to nil if you apply after December 1. That's the scholarship deadline date when the admissions offices are flooded with thousands of last-minute applications.

Regardless of chances: be sure to indicate your interest on the housing choices page.

sheila01, a lot of the rooms in Kinsolving have connecting bathrooms. When did you apply for housing in the first place? That is what determines your chance at getting the room you want. If you applied for housing recently, I think you are unlikely to get San Jac or Duren but may be able to get a connecting bath in Kinsolving. If you applied for housing very early, you are in good shape for whatever your top choice dorm is. Have you accepted your offer of admission?

A lot of rooms at Jester have connecting baths, so if you put Jester as your first choice and check the connecting bathroom box you may have a good chance of getting one.

Kins does as well, but it's only in one of the towers IIRC, but that's another chance.

Other than that, I think your chances of San Jac and Duren are next to nil unless you list your roommate as someone who applied early.

I sent in my application and applied for housing in early November. I have already accepted my admissions offer and have an active housing contract.

Applied for housing in early November? I predict you will get your first choice dorm.

what about if you turned in the housing application in late january/early february? I have yet to accept my admissions so I still need to pay the enrollment deposit and get my housing contract. What are my chances for san jac?

In past years you would not have had a good chance for San Jac but since this is the first year that you had to have a completed application in beforeyou applied for housing, who knows?

Look for old posts by the user named UTHousing.

At one point that user posted and said that everyone who had applied up til that point was likely to get first choice. i don't remember when that was, but it seems to me it was in january.
