Hi everybody. I think I am being too hopeful but I wanted to gather different opinions. The assistant director of admissions at Yale contacted me about a missing letter of recommendation. Through email, we had a conversation and she thought it would be really helpful if I sent in a third letter of rec along with the missing one. At this point, they didn't throw my application out, so is this a good sign? Or is it customary?

I don’t think this is anything special, just that it would help your application if they knew more about you, which makes sense.

I think you are on the bubble, sent third letter pronto!

Only 19 days until decisions are out!
Strangely, it’s a little comforting to know that they’re still going through each of the applications meticulously, making sure they have enough information about the applicant and whatnot.

For your case, I think it means you’ve made it past the regional subcommittees, and are probably up in the running for the broader committee meetings. Much better than being rejected outright :P
