Moreadventurous: My son got the same letter in response to his request for a re-evaluation. He also fit into the range: albeit the lower end of the top quarter. I think they had already made their decisions and were just appeasing us. My son now wishes he had only submitted his ACT score which was very high. Apparently they didn’t consider that, probably because he submitted both SAT and ACT. We wonder though if they only had the ACT to go on, would his chances have been better. Nonetheless, he is excited to be in the class of 2014. As his mom, I personally feel badly that his hard work wasn’t recognized though.

Yeah it is late in the game, so they probably wouldn’t have really reconsidered either. Its kind of unfair that people who only may have been a few points lower did not receive scholarships.

I am still really excited to come to Maryland as well, it just would have been easier for me if I received some merit money. What’s done is done I guess.
