How hard is this class compared to AP world history/APUSH?

I thought AP Euro was a lot easier than APUSH. Then again, I had a good teacher.

Harder than AP World by far. But then again, I had a good AP World teacher and a terrible AP Euro teacher. (And I didn’t take APUSH due to complete lack of interest in US History.)

That being said, you should take it! It was quite interesting nonetheless, and the exam wasn’t that difficult. I BS’ed my entire way through it and, without having studied for the exam at all, somehow managed a 4. though god only knows how that happened.

Take it! I only wish my school offered it. It surely can’t be as hard as APUSH (even then, that wasn’t so hard). My boyfriend vouches that AP Euro was easier than APUSH.

Is it just pure memorization or is it more analysis?

bump
jjjjjjjjjj

Pure memorization. The test is basically contingent on your ability to drop $10 words and remember various characteristics of time periods/philosophies/reigns.

Key to AP USH is just remembering various minority’s roles. Key to AP Euro is just remembering class warfare. Develop those themes and you’ll be fine.
You should take the class.

APUSH < APWH < AP Euro

Oh, I forgot to talk about the difficulty. Quite honestly, it was the easiest academic class I’ve ever taken. Don’t try and memorize the minute facts– history is pretty predictable. Just learn the characteristics of rulers, philosophies, and nations. The rest is common sense and treaty names.

I am taking AP Euro right now as a sophomore. My last test is this friday. The thing is, you have to really know how to apply the information in writings and essays, which I’m guessing you already know and you’re probably really good at it because I’m guessing you took AP world history. AP Euro is generally more interesting then other histories (at least in my opinion). I don’t mind AP Euro that much and I don’t even like history! AP Euro is definitely more analysis. You can’t just memorize facts because its about applying these facts and being able to see how all the facts you’ve memorized affect each other.
If you’re not taking other big APs, then I would take it. If you are taking other APs, it’ll depend on what you want to major in. If you want to be a doctor or something scientific, I wouldn’t suggest it and maybe you should take an AP science instead. But if you really like history you should definitely take it. Also ask other people who took the class about it because a BIG factor is the teacher and how prepared most people felt for the AP test based on what the teacher taught.

I’ve always liked social sciences (AP human/APUSH) so, i thought i’d try my hand at it. I mean AP world was a bit dry, i just want a change for senior year.

Would you consider it a “fun” class?

It’s been my favorite class of high school (I’m a senior now). Then again, I had an excellent teacher. I also had a crapload of work, but mostly defining terms and stuff. Essays require a bit more analysis than APUSH, but I think the subject is also more interesting. And analyzing isn’t that hard. Take it!

It’s definitely one of the funner classes– pretty much kept me from going crazy sophomore year. There’s so much material and so many amazing stories. It’s exhilarating with all the different people, artistic viewpoints, and countries you get exposed to, as opposed to US History where you’ve heard it all before.
