A Coprophage is someone who eats feces (post #17). Just thought I’d alert everyone.

so that’s the secret, you just have to eat feces and you will be accepted!!!

starts up new business

I’m in the Pending Team with a 3.28 GPA. Thank you guys!!

any polisci majors admitted with 1 missing prereq?? stats?

@shin do u have TAP?

I got into poli sci by only taking stats and 3 of the polisci courses (american, comparative, international) even though political theory was offered at my CC. I had a 3.68 GPA, IGETC, no TAP, average essay, weak EC’s.

math/econ is in the math department, not the econ department and is significantly less impacted.

congrats to all my fellow underachievers!

lmao I think this thread is pretty funny. I like it.

Even in rejection I can be positive. Congrats you guys!

I agree with emil. This thread is pretty cool. It’s interesting to see that in the end grades really aren’t everything (tho damn in this case I wish they were)…

Well I would have won if I got in with my 2.8, I think they rejected me on the first day they sent out notifications, they let me know reaaally fast. I’m thinking they probably wanted me to know never again should I even think about applying with a 2.8.

But then again, this thread is about those who got in so my post is pretty pointless, I know I’m bored.

2.96 baby! bio

1.6 BABY BECAUSE IMA PLAY FOR THE BRUINS BASKETBALL!!!

kidding.

My history classmate wins hands down when it comes to science majors, he just got his acceptance today.

Here are his stats from what he told me:

Major: Physics
GPA: 3.1-ish
Pre-reqs: all done, remaining 2 in progress

His ECs and strong upward trend are most likely what got him in. 7 years ago, when he graduated high school, he bombed his first semester in community college (D’s and F’s in all his classes, hence his low GPA). He then joined the Navy as an flight/electronics technician which sparked his interest in physics. After he finished his service, he went back to CC and aced all his physics/math/general-ed pre-reqs while working part time as a ground crewman for Southwest Airlines and taking care of his wife and son.

Dude is a hardworking family man and physics genius, he deserved his acceptance and the admissions officer gave him the green light.

back in high school (one year ago lulz) i was top 8% of my graduating class. i only got accepted to UCR -.- its a bltch. seeing all you guys with shltty gpa get in is kind of insulting. congratulations to you guys and dont take it for granted since so many people would take a kick(or 100) to the nuts to be in you spot

damn.
seeing ppl with low gpa getting in… i am getting ****ed off…
why did i get rejected with 3.76 gpa w. decent ECs for sociology major…

@yjc123chris

It can’t be helped because sociology has so many applicants, and last year UCLA only admitted 5% of sociology transfers. The average GPA of those admitted for sociology was about 3.7. Your GPA falls right around the average so it could have gone either way. With your GPA you’ll be sure to find success elsewhere, good luck.

that’s false rawfulmao

lmao at rawfulmao. sociology has a 20% acceptance rate. u need to understand the difference bw “% of all applied” and “acceptance rate”
