Yeah I’ll look at the linguistics competition, seems interesting, but hard! lol!

Yeah can I have the name of the spanish poetry contest?

Catchinginfinity, if you’re fluent in Chinese, you have quite a few unique EC opportunities. If you can read/write in Chinese, you could dedicate your time to translating English works (books, poetry, etc.) into Chinese and compiling it all into a website of some sort. The site would allow people without a thorough knowledge of English the chance to enjoy some English stuff. Would be perfect for parents who were born in China, but now live here and can’t speak English as well. The project could easily be adapted to become a language teacher of sorts for people who are looking to learn English, but are from a Chinese background.

Stuff like that would go a long way with adcoms.

@Sanjay - It’s something offered through National Spanish Honor Society!

@TeamRocket - Hmm, that’s interesting. I get that it’s really unique, but what’s the purpose behind it? Would it help students who are taking Chinese?

Basically, yeah. You could do it so that the UI has the option for language comparison. As in, you could see both a Chinese version and an English version of page 32 of “A Tale of Two Cities” by Dickens, for example. A person fluent in Chinese with intermediate skills in English could read both and strengthen their English skills; a person fluent in English taking Chinese could do the same thing.

Wow that’s actually really weird. I already started up a program similar to what you are describing. If either of you are interested in joining/collaborating, def PM me and il give you more info and we can see about advancing the program further.

Sanjay, I’d suggest you email the Davidson Institute if you aren’t sure whether or not your work will be considered. The administrators are extremely friendly, they won’t bite! The Davidson Fellows Scholarship is a fantastic scholarship, and I’d highly recommend you take the time to apply if your work meets their guidelines!

I’ve been trying to enter some of these, but i r stooped freshy
