Cool places to study?

They expire today!

I love how before the coupons were issued, I got lunch at Pacific at noon with no line. Then one week later, the coupons were out, and there were 10 people in line before noon.

:)

Starbucks has been fine. My classes don't require a lot of memorization and intense reading anyway. I spent way too many hours in libraries when I was an undergrad at Northwestern; maybe that explains why I don't particularly like them these days.

I have found that Westwood has lots of great and inexpensive (at least relatively) places to eat. What I don't understand is they aren't that crowded even on weekends, given the huge number of students. Yesterday, I tried East-West sandwich for the first time. 12-inch for $5 and tastes much better than Quiznos subs. I saw a Subway across the street when I walked out and I wondered how it can compete.

Simple -- the on-campus dining hall food is just as good, "free" to those with a meal plan, and much more convenient to on-campus residents.

I did have an English breakfast latte and a chocolate muffin at a cafe near the public policy building the other day. They were pretty good.

So how far exactly is South Regional Library say .. from DeNeve?

Do you know where Saxon & Hitch are located? It's around there. Should take 10 minutes to walk.

IRT Kerckhofffff loungeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee dstars/ustairs ----

does anyone USE the ceyoung grand salon?????? jwwwww

you can study in grnad salon? its more of a formal reception room for events

There are rooms inside Tom Bradley that people used to study during Finals week .. kinda quiet.

if i really need to get work done, the chemistry library is the best place to go. It's quiet, no food, and uncomfortable chairs so you can't even fall asleep. furthermore, it's so far from everything else, you won't be tempted to leave.

another favorite place of mine is northern lights/north campus student center. i love the fireplace thing with the table around it. this is more like, half-ass studying though.

The Bio Med Library. It's a lot like death in there. You walk in to a room of people studying in complete silence. Plus the books are spread out on like 10 claustrophobic floors with a few studying spots (chairs with walled tables) on each. Just walk onto the elevator, press a floor and study away.

But, um, beware of ghosts and murderers and stuff.

Yea, you can sorta study in the Kerckoff Grand Salon. By the entrance, there's a reception desk. Fits 2 or 3 students.

XD

LAWL!!! I feel that way about YRL... spooky. cries

To the orginal poster,

Management library is a great place also. Its much newer looking than Powell, so you might like that better.

I've been using Night powell alot but that place is getting ridiculous. Engineering library is nice, but they're not open that late compared to night powell. My roommate uses Public Policy building but eventually the janitors kick you out of the conference rooms.

Don't you need a key card to use the bio med library?

No, that's only for the 8th floor study rooms. These are restricted to medical/graduate students, residents and faculty. Biomed access for them is also 24/7. You can request for this type of access but you'll have to show proof that you are one of the four.

the boelter library stacks...it's a dungeon...literally
