Cooper Union has an admission percentage of 8%
Whats so special about it?
It was free tuition up until a few years ago and now it is half tuition. Small, but very strong undergrad engineering specialty school with a small masters program and a strong arts program. Located in New York City which is a draw for some.
Similar to Olin College of Engineering which is part of the Babson/Olin/Wellesley consortium, but does not have the arts programs or the masters programs.
Somewhat similar to Harvey Mudd which is part of the Claremont Consortium, but includes all STEM subjects and no art programs or masters programs.
Somewhat similar to the engineering school at Tufts which is a smaller engineering school, but it has a small Phd research program and is embedded in a liberal arts university.
All have about a 10% admission percentage.
admissions is now over 15% because at current tuition rate its questionable value.
I hear its above 15% for 2016.
